Before Powerpuff Girls Ω
Dee Dee McPhearson was born in 2000, as the first child and only daughter of Susan O'Reilly and Franky McPhearson. Dee Dee was a joyful young girl with a passion for music and dancing. In the latter, she was even a prodigy. She was also very curious, rebellious and not very bright. This combination let to a lot of animosity between her and her brother, especially after discovering the latter's lab. She had the annoying tendency to uncover flaws in his inventions, mainly through malpractice. Her destructive nature did sometimes worked in Dexter's favor however. As she found a not-so secret admirer in Mandark Astronomonov, Dexter once used her to destroy the latter's lab in revenge for Mandark's attempt shut down Dexter's.
When she was 10 years old, her pen pal Bo, was diagnosed with leukemia. Bo would later died, a death that greatly impacted Dee Dee, lead her to mature a bit. This led Dexter to trust her more and more. At one point, when Dexter felt that his mind needed to rest, he went to meditiate with her. It was then that she asked him to never try to play "god" and stay away from experimenting with the forces of life. He promised her he won't do that.
After the Omega Event, the war between Dexter and with Mandark Astranomonov met a boiling point, with Mandark exposing all of Dexter's secrets to world and bringing the fight to the lab. Using Nos-4-A-2's drones, that suck the energy out of devices, Mandark gained the upper hand and trashed the lab. But even close to defeat, Dexter didn't give up. When he was ordered by Mandark to surrender, he would rather have died. And he would got his wish, if it wasn't for Dee Dee, who jumped in front of him and gave her life for his.
Dexter was unable to cope with this loss and against his promise, he tried to resurrect her. He built a cyborganic gynoid in her image but since it lacks a soul, he tried to bring her back with black magic. Seeing how he was about to sell his soul to a demon, she intervened and reminded him of his promise, ending his attempts to recreate her.
Powerpuff Girls Ω
After kidnapping Blossom, Mandark revealed to her that he wanted to use her to resurrect Dee Dee, by replacing Blossom's soul with Dee Dee. For this purpose, he took her to Hamunaptra, and collected the Black Book of the Dead. As the ritual started, Blossom's soul was exorcised and Dee Dee was summoned from Heaven. But before the ritual could continue however, Dexter arrived to stop Mandark.
As they watched the battle, Dee Dee explained the situation to Blossom, revealing that if someone would move ther body, she would return to her body, instead of Dee Dee. When Blossom ill-considerd mentioned that she hopes Dexter wins, before making excuses to Dee Dee, the latter brushed it off as nothing and made clear that she shared the same hope. When asked by Blossom what she was, Dee Dee started to tell her about the afterlife, something Blossom quickly regretted. When Blossom made clear that she believed that was better not to know too much about the afterlife. Out of respect for her request, Dee Dee stopped.
Dee Dee was a carefree girl with a love for dancing. Although not the brightest, she was very curious but this combined with her legendary clumsiness, often caused trouble for Dexter, as a majority of cases led in the destruction of Dexter's inventions. She was however very caring towards him when it mattered and after the death of her pen pal Bo, she became more mature. It also have her a clear perspective on death. She believed that life and death were two concepts that would be off limits for science, a philosphy she shared with Dexter, asking him to promise her he wouldn't experiment with dead. Later, she would sacrifice herself for Dexter, saving his life at the expense of her own.
After she became a spirit, she would stop Dexter from selling his soul, only to get her back. She also didn't want Mandark to succeed in returning to the life at the expense of Blossom's soul. This shows that she is very altruistic and often puts others in front of her.
She is two to three times taller than Dexter and has peculiar body proportions; a minuscule torso with a large head and gangly limbs, similar to a ballerina's. To complete the ballet look, she wears a pink mallk tutu and ballet shoes, which usually create a "squishy" noise while walking. She sounds like both her parents, has a similar personality and hair color to her father.
After Dee Dee died her appearance changed when she became Dexter's guardian angel, she now wears a white dress and has angel wings. She lets her hair out instead of using her pigtails. Her angel appearance bears much resemblance to her appearance when she is meditating (wearing the same dress and hairstyle)
